So this loong overdue post is from March but I definitely wanted to make sure Desiree & Devon got the full post they deserved :)
We got together on a cold March afternoon… (the coldest day in weeks!) but they were troopers and we had a blast! My brother and I are definitely looking forward to photographing their wedding in October.
So much has happened since the beginning of this month and I’m finally getting a chance to sit down and take a breather.
April began with a lovely mother daughter photo session on the 1st with the winner of the Free Mini Session giveaway I did back in February… Their session was absolutely beautiful and a great reminder of why everyone should have photos with those that they love.
It was a very bittersweet session since my grandmother (my mom’s mom) passed earlier that same morning. That week was spent getting everything together for the funeral and completing her memorial programs. I wanted to do them since I’d done the memorial programs when my other grandma passed a few years ago… that was one sleep deprived week for everyone as we worked to get everything together, but the programs and her service turned out beautifully.
The next week (last week) was spent playing catch up and I ended the week with two great photo sessions. Friday’s session was with the wonderful folks at Scott Orthodontics!
And Saturday’s session was with the gorgeous Michelle!
I am so in love with the photos from her session :) You’ll definitely be seeing a full post for her session within the coming weeks.
Overall April has definitely been an eventful month, but we’re making it day by day. I definitely want to thank everyone who expressed their condolences, prayed, sent a card, left a kind word, and came by to visit. We really appreciate it and look forward to seeing her again :)

Another noteworthy adjustment? All standard sessions now include professional makeup application! I am so excited to have this as a standard offering because this really takes your custom photography experience to the next level. Instead of simply meeting to take pictures, you are now pampered before your session and your resulting photos will be nothing short of stunning!

I am soo excited about this! I have had quite a few photographers interested in tagging along on a session and I was trying to figure out what the best way to help everyone would be… While tagging along on a session could work, it doesn’t really provide the best learning environment because I can’t adequately address your needs while caring for my clients. So now you can have your very own time with me- just for you :) We will have subject(s) model for us based on what you feel you need the most assistance with. Need help photographing families? We’ll have a family. Need help photographing couples? We’ll have a couple. Need help photographing models? We’ll have a model… So now instead of tagging along, you can have a one-on-one mentor session :)
In an effort to simplify things a bit, I now offer custom invitation design only. I do have great referrals if you are interested in logo creation, branding, business cards, flyers, etc.
The blog now offers a much more comprehensive and informative Frequently Asked Questions page!
Last, but certainly not least, I have worked to make the website much more informative and now includes a panoramic view of photos along with updated portfolio galleries!
Whew! That’s a lot of changes guys lol. I hope you all are enjoying the new look and aren’t too overwhelmed by all the information :) An educated client is the best client and I strive to do just that.

It is with a somewhat heavy heart that I say goodbye to my old colors of blue and green and my old logo… only somewhat heavy because I am super excited about my new look!! I struggled with my new logo design a bit, but I wanted it to be a more accurate reflection of myself and my work and I think it fits perfectly :)

March was a remarkably slower month and I welcomed it with open arms lol… it gave me a little time to catch up on editing, design projects, and complete my rebranding process.
I did have a few sessions last month and here a few sneak peeks because I’ll probably do full posts on each of these sessions.
Felicity Ro was kind enough to indulge me and bring to life a couple ideas I had with this session. 2 completely different looks, one fabulous model :)

So this doesn’t happen too often, but I took a few photos of myself in March that I actually ended up loving lol. I’ve been wearing headwraps lately (mostly because I’m lazy and it helps when I don’t feel like doing anything to my hair lol) but I realized I didn’t have any photos in one, so I took some :)
Last session of the month was with Leah… I really enjoyed this session, she has a beautiful personality :)
