Just stopping in with a quick announcement:

My makeup artist Denyelle is holding a makeup seminar this weekend!

If you've had your makeup done by Denyelle for a photo session with me OR if you've admired the client makeup in my photos and and were curious how to recreate the look(s) on your own, this is the perfect opportunity for you :)

Denni will be holding a small class this weekend in Silver Spring, MD where you can learn how to craft your perfect everyday makeup look!

I'll be there this weekend snapping a few behind the scenes photos of all the beautification action as it happens lol. I hope to see you Saturday!

2017 Travel | News & Updates

Exciting news: Travel will resume in 2017!

But on a much smaller scale (for my sanity :) Visits are planned to cities where there are clusters of interest, so it's important that I hear from you if you're interested in a mentoring or photo session in (or near) your city!

So far, the list includes Atlanta, Brooklyn, and Dallas for late Spring and Summer dates.

Since I will be streamlining my travel this year, this means that if I have travel planned, I won't be visiting nearby major cities. So if you are located in Nashville, Birmingham, Jacksonville, etc... you will want to look at the Atlanta dates if you're interested in working together. Located in Houston, Little Rock, or Oklahoma City? You will want to look at the Dallas dates. And for those in Boston or Philly, the Brooklyn dates. This is of course if you don't mind traveling to DC because I'm always open to working with you guys here at home!

Note: This is not to say that I will not be willing to add additional cities later in the year (possibly Charlotte, LA, and Chicago), but to do so, I will need to hear from you :)

Currently I am gathering information from those interested to ensure I plan the correct amount of days both for teaching and shooting in each city, so the official dates for each city will be shared next week.

Thank you to everyone who has hung in there with me despite this past year being a rough one personally. Things are still very much day to day, but I am working to regain my footing, one step and one day at a time ♥

It's a brand new week! Slowly but surely... my goal is to become regular at this here blogging thing again! Today I'm sharing the most recent session from one of my favorite clients :)

Pamela and I have been connected for... wait. it's going to be 5 years this year! And when I tell you she has been a wonderful client, that is a true understatement.

Our first shoot together was an engagement shoot with her fiance, Oronde! Shortly thereafter we did senior photos for her son, and family photos with her two boys! Pam moved from the DC area to Atlanta with her fiance and got married, but our connection didn't stop there! The following year, in Atlanta, we did a family session with the whole family (minus her oldest as he was away at school)!

It has been a true joy seeing her beautiful relationship and family blossom over the years and I count it a privilege to be able to document it all ♥

This past year on my annual Atlanta visit, we got together for a mini anniversary session! Check out my faves:

Happy Sunday to you ♥

I hope your weekend is ending on a positive note! Just wanted to drop in for a (rare) sweet Sunday post :)

Last winter, Nelsheika reached out to do a portfolio building session for her daughter, Nylah! She wanted to get her into acting and modeling so I was honored to capture Nylah's charismatic personality :) I don't often photograph children apart from their parents or families, so this was a wonderful change of pace!

DC 101 Group Session | Washington, DC Photography Instructor

Last, but certainly not least, for today's #TeachingTuesday (in lieu of #MentorMonday ;) is a sweet group mentor session recap from this past summer!

I had such a great time with this group which included one of my former photography clients, one of my former high school teachers, and two amazing ladies who traveled from NJ & NY for the session!

It was a super hot day, but Monique was such a lovely model for us! Can you believe she is only 16 and this was her first time modeling?! She did such an excellent job!
