Tess | Atlanta, GA Lifestyle Photographer

Next up on the blog today is the other “for fun” shoot I did while we were in Atlanta this past February. Meet Tess!

We had been in talks for MONTHS about doing pictures but never seemed to make it work. She was back and forth between DC and Atlanta for a while so I made sure we linked up when I went to visit :)

Tess has some of THE most gorgeous eyes I’ve seen! So happy the rain held off and we were able to shoot her session in Little Five Points- such a fun and colorful area!

Fabulous hair and makeup were cared for by Anastasia & Denyelle.

Kathryn | Atlanta, GA Lifestyle Photographer

Happy Thursday everyone! Lots of great photos coming your way today :)

First up is my friend Kathryn! We met on instagram through a mutual friend and made plans to get together when I got to Atlanta for a “just because” shoot :) Kathryn AKA Beff, Wendy, Fred, etc… (long story lol) is also a fellow photographer at Polka Dot Productions Photography based in Augusta, GA.

We met up on a rainy Friday evening so our shoot ended up being indoors but we definitely made the best of it. Of course it always feels awkward for someone used to being behind the camera to get in front of it, but Beff rocked these photos despite her nervousness and we had a great time!

After a quick change, we hung out a bit while we waited for our food to be delivered… took more pictures of course :) Love these pics- they showcase her bubbly personality perfectly!

We had such a great time with Beff and I look forward to doing it again soon!!

Dickson Wine Bar | Washington, DC Business Photographer

Happy Tuesday lovelies!

One of the last sessions to share that I didn’t get a chance to blog over the past few months is a session I did with Dickson Wine Bar a couple months ago. You might remember this beautiful location from the Neon + Neutral Editorial I did last year. The manager Ed was kind enough to let us use this beautiful venue for the shoot so I shot a few photos of him and the bar in exchange :)

Be sure to go visit Dickson when you get a chance- the food and drinks are great and I’m sure Ed would be happy to see some new faces :)

Yasmin | Washington, DC Natural Light Photography Mentor

Next up on the blog today is Yasmin!

I met Yasmin and her husband Calvin in September of last year when they took advantage of a mini special and  it was the beginning of a beautiful relationship :)

I then worked with her again the following month when she scheduled another mini for family photos!

Needless to say I was thrilled when her husband got in touch with me to book a mentor session for her a few months ago :) We had so much fun! I actually think it was my best to date! With each session I’m able to improve my teaching methods and it feels so good when I’m able to explain something and see their eyes light up because they get it!

That’s exactly what happened with Yasmin and I couldn’t be happier with how the session went. She had several lightbulb moments and I can’t wait to watch her work progress :)

We then met up with our models Kisha and Lamont as we put her new skills to use :)

Here are a few words from Yasmin about her mentoring experience:

“Not only did I learn so much from Danielle, but I also had fun! Danielle is extremely knowledgable and very patient. She makes you feel at ease asking any questions you have- even the most basic ones. The session was designed around my skill level and interests. I left with a wealth of information that has already helped me improve my photography and editing skills. If you are considering booking a mentoring session- just do it!”
