Celeste | Greenbelt, MD Family Photographer

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I am majorly behind on blogging October sessions because it was THAT busy! I will slowly get them all up over the next few weeks :) Today I have two coming your way! First up is Celeste and her beautiful little family.

I had the privilege of working with her back in 2010 for her maternity photos- please ignore my horrid and inconsistent processing lol

Now fast-forward a couple years and here is the family today! I really enjoyed their session and exploring the outdoors with Laila lol. She is such a sweet and very smart 2-year-old.

I look forward to working with you guys in the years to come and watching your family grow :)

Ron & Imani | Columbia, MD Wedding Photographer

Last Saturday, Adrian and I photographed the wonderful wedding ceremony of Ron & Imani! After a situation with their previous photographer brought them to DFinney Photography, we did our best to assure them that they were now in good hands :) These two have such beautiful personalities so we knew that we were going to love working with them!

The day of their wedding arrived and it couldn’t have come at a worse time for me personally :( I was dealing with the loss of a dear friend and had to attend the funeral the very same day! Dealing with a loss and then heading right to capture the happiest moment of someone’s life is a feeling I’d like to never experience again. I’m so thankful that I work with my brother because I don’t know what I would have done without him. Thanks to Adrian and our lovely assistant Nahshon, everything turned out beautifully :) That experience truly helped me see just how much I appreciate working with my brother.

This wedding will always have special meaning for me not only because of what I was dealing with personally, but because of just how in love these two are! I truly enjoyed not only being there to capture their special day, but being a part of it.

Thanks Ron & Imani for trusting us with your big day :)

Congratulations again and happy 10 day anniversary! lol

Adrian & Genae | Washington, DC Creative Lifestyle Photographer

Moving right along with last month’s sessions… I’m happy to share the 2 year anniversary mini session I did for my brother before their cruise a couple weeks ago. It was a fairly quick session done the morning before they left, but I’m so happy with how the photos turned out!

I posted this photo on Facebook last week for a look back at their wedding and anniversaries over the past 2 years and I look forward to adding more and more photos to this in the years to come! Happy Anniversary again guys :)

Anenia Family | Washington, DC Family Photographer

I’m a little late in posting this but I can’t wait to share these images! A few weeks back in early October I had the privilege of working with the beautiful Anenia Family! We met for an early shoot and it WOULD be the coldest morning we’d had thus far :/ But they were troopers and despite mini melt downs from the little ones, we came away with some gorgeous new family photos. I love how you would never know the back-story when looking at the final images from a session lol.

Anyway, without further ado, I give you the Anenia Family :)

It's November already? | A look ahead...

Happy Thursday everyone! So here is the obligatory “I can’t believe it’s November already” post, but seriously, I really can’t lol. This year has FLOWN by and it has been nothing short of amazing thanks to you guys!

I announced on Facebook and Instagram a few days ago that I will not be booking any December dates, so I figure that needs to be posted here as well for those of you not on social media :) Why you ask? For the simple reason that I need a break! lol. As I mentioned, this year has been amazing, but I’ve literally been going non-stop it seems the entire year. I need to rest and refresh before beginning the new year and December is the perfect time to do so. I will still be taking care of existing things and catching up on personal projects I never had the chance to finish, but no new sessions.

I’m a little excited and kind of nervous because this will be the first self-imposed break I’ve taken since I began my business officially 3 years ago, but I’d say it’s well-deserved :) If I had the extra funds I’d definitely go on vacation, but this time around I think a stay-cation will have to do… I just bought a new camera and I need a new computer lol.

Sidenote: I’m pretty sure I’ll be doing a Cyber Monday Sale like I did last year but all dates booked will need to be for January or February 2013.

And because no post is complete without a picture, I give you one of my absolute favorites from the wedding my brother and I shot this past weekend (their full wedding preview will be posted next week)-

Adrian took this awesome shot and I am in loove with it (and judging by the response on facebook, so is everyone else!) Just another reason I love working with my brother :)

Alright now that you guys are all updated and my mini blog haitus is complete, who’s ready for new photos?? Tons coming your way right now!
