Second MM post for the day? The early 2016 travel calendar! Woo hoo!

I am excited to announce the following dates and cities have been planned for early next year and additional cities and dates can possibly be added (within reason lol) for the remainder of the year. I say within reason because if I will be visiting a city NEAR yours, that may be your best option if you’re interested in attending a mentor session or having photos taken as I don’t plan to do as much traveling throughout next year. I’m kind of front-loading the travel so I hope to work with you whether I’m IN your city or a city near yours!

Orlando, FL
Session 101: Friday, January 29
*If there is enough interest, Session 102 can be added and will be held on Saturday, January 30

Los Angeles, CA
Session 101: Friday, February 12
*If there is enough interest, Session 102 can be added and will be held on Saturday, February 13.

Atlanta, GA
Session 101: Friday, February 26
Session 102: Saturday, February 27

Charlotte, NC
Session 101: Friday, March 25
*If there is enough interest, Session 102 can be added and will be held on Saturday, March 26

Brooklyn, NY
Session 101: Friday, April 15
*If there is enough interest, Session 102 can be added and will be held on Saturday, April 16

Chicago, IL
Session 101: Friday, May 20
Session 102: Saturday, May 21

Houston, TX
Session 101: Friday, June 10
*If there is enough interest, Session 102 can be added and will be held on Saturday, June 11

Notice anything missing? DC! Since this is home base, DC sessions will be added as needed. If you’re interested in getting a head start on 2016? The last sessions for the year will actually be in DC on December 4th & 5th and a couple seats remain!

Happy Mentor Monday loves!

After I was having MM every Monday for a while, it feels like it’s been forever since the last one! But have no fear, today it’s back and I think I’m going to share two posts to make up for it :)

First up? Rasheid!

You may remember seeing him and his adorable children from a couple family sessions I did with them last year :) Well this time was all about Rasheid and his photography! We met over breakfast at Busboys & Poets and went over the first half of our material, then headed back to snap a few headshots for him before photographing our model Raigan and her beautiful family!

It was so awesome seeing the “lightbulb” after maybe only 45 minutes when Rasheid realized just how easy it was to get consistently great natural light shots! I can’t tell you how much I LOVE these lightbulb moments :)

Happy Friday beautiful people! We made it to the end of the work week!

I have a special post to share with you today- the story of my good friends Terianna & Joel! I have known these two for years! I don’t even know how many exactly… gotta be somewhere around 15, maybe even longer! So I was so happy to hear they were dating, then that Joel was thinking about popping the question, then to hear that they were officially engaged!

I was asked to be a bridesmaid so since I wouldn’t be shooting their wedding, I knew I wanted to take their engagement photos! Here are a few :)

Fast-forward to the day of their wedding in April, and it was an absolutely beautiful day! Terri Baskin was the wedding photographer and she did a wonderful job!

Of course I couldn’t go completely camera-less, so I snapped a few prep + portrait photos :)

Rolling right along with this Wedding Week (it’s Day 5!) and I’m excited to share these amazing images with you! A couple years ago I worked with Happy Girls Events on this glam styled shoot at Perry’s Restaurant in DC!

I always love working with them as they have such great ideas. In fact we also worked together on this styled shoot earlier in 2013 and it was featured on United with Love! So needless to say I was looking forward to capturing more of their beautiful work :)
