We made it, ya’ll! 5 hours and 5 blog posts later and we’ve reached the end of my blog blitz for today :) Last, but certainly not least, we have Felicia!

Felicia Leatherwood is a super talented hair stylist and educator specializing in the care of natural hair. She has worked with such celebrities as Jill Scott, Will Smith, and Teyonah Parris to name a few and travels all around the world teaching her Loving Your Hair with Natural Care Workshop!

So when I heard she was coming to DC for a brief visit, I was so excited! I reached out, unsure if we would be able to get together, but Denyelle and I were able to link up with Felicia for a quick, but wonderful headshot session!  

Felicia is absolutely one of the sweetest people I’ve met. Her physical beauty is only surpassed by her warm and welcoming spirit. You can absolutely see how radiant she is by these pictures!  Denni and I had a great time working with her and I look forward to linking up again soon when I visit LA to do a proper session :)

Kiki of Mahogany Knots reached out to do a mini family session in Atlanta and I can’t tell you how sweet her family is!

Everyone was on the same page (ready for photos) except baby boy :( But we made the best of it and still got some beautiful images despite the fact that he was absolutely over me & pictures after about 5 minutes lol.

I’ll give this smile an “A” for effort. He’s trying ya’ll lol

Twin sis was ready for the camera though :)

Despite the twins’ mood differences, I absolutely love this shot. You can’t win them all lol.

Next up, is Chelsea!

This was actually a “just because” session I did back in the Spring at a cookout. Chelsea was visiting from Indiana with a mutual friend and I had to photograph her!

I absolutely loved her big hair and bright blue green eyes! Believe it or not, I did absolutely NOTHING to the color of her eyes in these photos, they’re just that radiant. We caught some nice evening light and had fun capturing her beauty :)

Shanta & Mark | Washington, DC Engagement Photographer

Next up this morning? The most perfect engagement mini session in the history of perfectness! Lol Why you ask? Because my love for symmetry, lines, light, and color all came together exquisitely for this session.

How do I get all of my clients to coordinate with their surroundings so well? The big secret (not really ;) is that I simply ask to know what they’re wearing ahead of time. This, in addition to other pre-session communication, helps me to make sure that their location is a perfect fit.

Now in Mark & Shanta’s case, I had absolutely no idea that this would be SO perfect! I about lost my mind when I got them in front of this wall and the light was perfect, and the colors were perfect, their styling was perfect… and just everything! Lol

Okay, I will stop rambling now and let you check out the photos from their session :)
