On the move in 2013 | First stop: ATLANTA!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope the new year is treating you well so far :)

So I thought it fitting that the first post of 2013 be an exciting one!! I’ve been sharing this on social media for the past couple weeks, but now I can make the official announcement on the blog!

We are soo excited to take DFinney Photography on the road!

Last year, Denyelle and I had the privilege of working with Maeling “Natural Chica” Tapp

And the response her session received was amazing! Since she lives in Atlanta, we got a lot of interest from folks in Georgia, so I’m looking forward finally making my way down there :)

While in town, I will be doing mentor and mini sessions. There are 2 mentor session slots available for Saturday, Feb 23 or Monday, Feb 25. Minis will be booked Friday through Sunday.

Mini Sessions are $175 and include the following:

• Pre-consult to ensure your photo session will be just what you want!
• 30 min photo session for up to 4 people
• 1 outfit
• Custom editing of the best 10-15 images selected by the photographer

• Private digital proof gallery for ordering
The minimum print requirement has been waived for the special.

Mentor Sessions are $475 and include the following.

Mini and Mentor Sessions don’t include makeup like Standard Sessions, but professional makeup application is always highly recommended for best results :) That’s where the glam squad comes in! 

If you’d like to have your makeup done, it will just be an additional $55 (You save $10 when you book ahead. Paying the day of, it will be $65) If you’d like both your hair and makeup done, that will just be $130 (You save $20 when you book ahead. Paying the the day of, it will be $150).

2012: Year In Review [Part 2]

In case you missed it, Part 1 is [HERE]

The last half of this year was filled with a lot of firsts! My first sunrise session, first styled senior sessions, I participated in my first show, and my first official mentor session! Things have kind of been non-stop for the last half of the year so not all of the sessions have been blogged- especially towards the end of the year. I’ll be blogging those in January :) Of the sessions that have been blogged, they are linked, so you can click the photo if you’d like to see more photos from that session!

Let’s get started, shall we :)

AUGUST was one of my favorite months this year- we did a lot of great fashion/editorial sessions, a couple seniors, and my wonderful makeup artist Denyelle stepped in front of the camera for a few updated headshots!

In SEPTEMBER I participated in my first show! It was a lot of fun and I look forward to doing more in the future!

OCTOBER had to have been my busiest month EVER with a whopping 17 sessions! 10 of which were minis, 6 standard sessions, and 1 wedding. Whew! I’m tired all over again just thinking about it lol

NOVEMBER only slowed down a tad… we shot another lovely wedding and I did my first official mentor session!

Ah DECEMBER! Finally a little rest :) Only a little because I still had loads to do, so it was really only a rest from shooting- but I’ll take what I can get lol. During my pseudo break, I took a little time and got in front of the camera! I also did a fun mini shoot for a friend visiting from OKC. 

That’s it for 2012! What did you think?

This year has by far been one of the best years for my business and I look forward to what 2013 has to offer!

I can’t say enough how thankful I am to my wonderful family, friends, clients, and even admirers for your support. Since beginning my business 3 years ago, you have  been there and I am deeply appreciative… words really can’t express it. I know I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for you fine folks- so I thank you ♥

2012: Year In Review [Part 1]

It’s almost time to say farewell to yet another year! 2012 definitely had it’s share of some pretty big highs as well as lows (that I’m glad are in the past!) but as a whole it’s been a pretty good year! So let’s take a look back at the positives, shall we?

This is my first official Year in Review post since the blog has been in existence so I hope you enjoy the recap! Each photo is linked to its corresponding blog post so you can click through if you’d like to see more photos from that session.

JANUARY was super busy and an exciting start to the new year! I was thrilled to work on my first official magazine editorial :)

In FEBRUARY, we wrapped up the remaining Cyber Mini Sessions and began working on rebranding for our new look!

Things slowed down a bit in MARCH while I wrapped up final details for the April 2 relaunch!

In APRIL, we officially relaunched with a brand new look! Complete with an updated pricing structure and new features such as business photography & mentoring! 

MAY was a pleasant month filled with children, lots of love, and beautiful faces :)

In JUNE, we were busy making preparations for another big project in July, did a few additional headshots for STUDIOS Architecture, and I had the privilege of working with Natural Chica!

Though JULY looks like a slow month, it was anything but! I was so nervous and excited about executing out very first wedding editorial, but it turned out great! I also did a little product photography for Fascinators First, and my brother and I shot our first wedding of the year.

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope the week has been treating you well so far :) The weather has been absolutely gorgeous! Just stopping in with a very special post! Remember way back in September when I participated in the Koils by Nature show? At our table we had a free shoot giveaway and I never officially announced the winner on the blog so here we are today :)

The winner of the free shoot giveaway is Jessica Gray of HGKWW!

We met on an unseasonably warm day back in early November for her session and we had a blast! Prior to her session we discussed the different looks she wanted to go for so I did a little brainstorming and came up with the perfect location for each. Breast Cancer Mini Sessions [Recap]

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope everyone’s week is treating them well so far :) I’m doing pretty good… still catching up on editing and behind on blogging a bit so I wanted to get this posted today :)

In October we did a 2-day Breast Cancer Mini Session Special which ended up having great support! Hurricane Sandy came through on day 2 so we had to reschedule those sessions in November. Now that they’ve all been completed, I can post the recap :)
