It's April 2nd!!!

And DFinney Photography & Design has officially relaunched with a new look!!

It is with a somewhat heavy heart that I say goodbye to my old colors of blue and green and my old logo… only somewhat heavy because I am super excited about my new look!! I struggled with my new logo design a bit, but I wanted it to be a more accurate reflection of myself and my work and I think it fits perfectly :)

March Recap

March was a remarkably slower month and I welcomed it with open arms lol… it gave me a little time to catch up on editing, design projects, and complete my rebranding process.

I did have a few sessions last month and here a few sneak peeks because I’ll probably do full posts on each of these sessions.

Felicity Ro was kind enough to indulge me and bring to life a couple ideas I had with this session. 2 completely different looks, one fabulous model :) 

 

I was very much looking forward to this engagement session with Desiree & Devon because my brother and I will be shooting their wedding in October! Their own post is on the way, so here are just a couple for now :)

So this doesn’t happen too often, but I took a few photos of myself in March that I actually ended up loving lol. I’ve been wearing headwraps lately (mostly because I’m lazy and it helps when I don’t feel like doing anything to my hair lol) but I realized I didn’t have any photos in one, so I took some :)

Last session of the month was with Leah… I really enjoyed this session, she has a beautiful personality :)

January Recap

The new year got off to a buuusy start for me! I had TEN shoots- the most I’ve ever had in one month since I’ve been in business! Quite a few were Winter Mini Sessions so it was totally doable lol. Well let’s get started shall we :)

I started the new year with the beautiful Mariah who I’ve actually known for years! It was a pleasure when she got in touch with me for a photo session.

One of the highlights of the month for me was the awesome editorial I got to shoot for KISS Magazine! I was asked by Andrew Thomas Clifton (KISS Mag’s creative director) to design and execute a shoot for the magazine and I was so excited! I had soo many ideas but settled on the theme “Bohemian Gem” then assembled the perfect team to bring it to life: Wardrobe by Bianca Cerise & Tara Hamilton, Hair by Anastasia Arnold, Makeup by Stephanie Patterson, Nails by Celeste Hampton, and Photography by myself along with my assistant Debbie Camara. Here are just a few of my favorite shots from this awesome editorial (it totally deserves it’s own post which it will rightfully get :)

Next up, 3 lovely family sessions over the course of a few days… first up, the Allen siblings :)

Next up, the Osorios! This little one totally made me work for every smile you see lol

Last but certainly not least, the adorable Cook Family :) including baby girl’s Jessie doll… in every last one of her photos lol

Whew! that’s a lot of pictures… well we’re only at the halfway mark lol

3 back to back mini sessions were scheduled for the 14th… now we had a warm winter, but that day it was COLD and these folks were troopers! We kicked the day off with Tae'lor, she was a natural in front of the camera.

Next up was the adorable Armstrong family! Baby girl was not feeling me (or taking pictures) but she warmed up eventually :)

We finished up the day with a gorgeous mom & son mini session… yes, you read that right! They totally look like siblings, don’t they?!

The 28th was another busy day as I entered the home stretch with the last 2 sessions of the month. First up was the Holland family :) I just couldn’t get enough of this little boy- adorable isn’t even the word!

And finally we finish off the month with a promo shoot for Jewelry by Joy!

DFinney Photography has a new look and a brand new blog!!

So this has been a looong time coming! lol I’ve been meaning to start a blog for over 2 years now, but I’m so happy to say that I’ve finally done it, and I’m quite proud of it! :D
